Southern California Pro Gas Competition Rules

Rules will coincide with all NHRA track safety rules and ’Super Gas’ class rules.

The following are additional rules and guidelines specific to running SCPG association races.

  1. No minimum weight requirements.
  2. A driver must stage his/her car during at least one of the qualifying sessions for that day to be placed on the 1st round ladder. Any driver who does not stage their car during at least one qualifying session will not be included on the ladder and will be eligible for a refund of their SCPG entry fee. A refund of track entry fees must be taken up with track officials.
  3. Sponsor and/or event sponsor decals must be displayed on the race vehicle during all of the elimination rounds to be eligible for sponsorship, contingency money or certificates.
  4. Any SCPG competitor found guilty of verbally or physically harassing or attacking any SCPG board member, track personnel, NHRA official, or fellow competitor will be suspended from racing with SCPG for a period of one year. That refers to but is not limited to any level of destruction of track, personal or private property. The decision of the board in these matters will be final. The board will rely heavily on the disposition of the entity attacked for their final determination. Appeals may be presented in writing to the board for reconsideration but suspension will remain in affect until a decision of reinstatement occurs from the board.
